Pick & decide
Random name picker
Pick one or more names, with saved lists and persistent no-repeat cycles.
Tool controls
Saved lists and local backup
Use this list elsewhere
Saved lists stay in this browser. Loading a list creates a working copy; changes update the saved source only when you choose Update.
Quick paste-and-use still works without saving.

How to use it
Pick names and keep a no-repeat cycle clear
- Paste one name per line or restore a list saved in this browser.
- Choose how many names to pick and turn on no-repeat mode when everybody should have a turn before the cycle restarts.
- Pick the names, then copy the result or continue the same saved cycle later.
Worked example
What a result means
For Amina, Ben, Carla and Dev, choose two names with no-repeat mode on. If Amina and Carla are picked, the next pick uses Ben and Dev before a new four-name cycle begins.
Assumptions
Check the eligible input
Each non-blank line is one entry. Identical display names can be kept as separate entries, so add an initial or label when people need to be distinguishable.
Selection method
How this tool chooses
Eligible entries are securely shuffled into a queue. A no-repeat queue is stored only in this browser and is reset when you deliberately start a new cycle or materially change its list.
Inputs and optional saved data remain in this browser until you remove them.
Practical uses
When it can help
- Rotate workshop speakers without repeats
- Choose a club member for the next turn
- Pick a student to answer
Limitations
Use it for the right job
For everyday and informal selections only. Results are not independently audited and the tool is not designed for regulated drawings.
ChoiceDrop does not claim “true random” results, certification or independent auditing.
Frequently asked questions
Good to know
Do you upload my list?
No. Names, saved lists, history and cycle progress stay in this browser.
How does no-repeat mode work?
Eligible entries are securely shuffled into a queue. Each appears once before a new cycle begins.
Can I restore a list later?
Yes. Save it with a name and this browser will restore it until you clear site data.
